Hand Up Toronto is having another food run this Saturday at Moss Park. If you’re interested in volunteering please RSVP Below!

If you have any clothes you are looking to donate, you can bring them with you to the food run because we also distribute second hand, wearable clothes and shoes. In particular, sock, gloves, scarfs, and hats. Donations of new hygiene products are also accepted. 

The weather is getting chilly so don’t forget to dress warmly. 
We will have a tent and table set up at the bike share in Moss Park.

Hand Up Toronto is having another food run this Saturday at Moss Park. If you’re interested in volunteering please RSVP Below!

This Saturday come join us for our final run of the year! For this final run we will be providing some extra items and could use all the help we can get. As usual we will be have 150 meals to pack and displaying the used clothing from our clothing drive. For this final run we will also be providing hot tea, winter warm kits, and feminine hygiene products brought to you with by our partners.

Run Therapy will be joining us with Winter Warm Kits.
FlowMates will be joining us with some feminine hygiene products.
Plentea is providing us with some hot tea to pass out. 
Socks4souls supplied us with a bountiful supply of socks. 
KitsforaCause helped us put together some Winter Warm Kits of our own.

We are honoured to invite you to join us on a very special evening to help us spread much needed love and raise our collective consciousness through the therapeutic practice of Yoga Nidra and Sacred Sound bath.

We will indulge our bodies, minds and souls in a soothing Yoga Nidra practice and a gentle sound journey facilitated by Annie & Jason.

50% of the ticket prices from this special event will be donated to Hand Up Toronto, a beautiful organization that holds bi-weekly sandwich runs at Moss Park. This evening is all about connecting to the self, to the ancient practices of Yoga Nidra and Sacred Sound, and to our fellow human beings. No prior experience is required. All levels are welcome.

ABOUT THE TEACHERS

Annie Keshishian (Arjan Priya) is a Reiki Master, certified teacher of Kundalini Yoga, Hatha/Vinyasa Yoga, therapeutic Yoga Nidra and Gong Yoga of Holistic Resonance by Gong Master Don Conreaux. She immerses herself in the world of Sacred Sound Healing by playing the Gong, wind chimes, singing bowls, tuning forks, shamanic flute and drums. She strongly believes that the divine frequency of sacred sound, combined with the powerful energy of Kundalini Yoga, heals the mind, body and soul. She feels a strong connection to Pachamama (Mother Earth) and to all beings in this vast universe and is honoured to be a channel for the teachings of Yoga, Sacred Sound and some shamanic traditions to be passed on to the community.

Jason Balducci is an Italian multi-instrumentalist, composer, street busker and sound healer who creates his own unique approach to music and sound.

He has redefined the musical possibilities of the handpan with his unique, poetic and percussive style; by playing multiple instruments simultaneously, he creates beautiful, mesmerizing, and intense music. His warm-hearted humility allows everyone to come home to a deep place of peace and well being.

Jason is also a contemporary figurative painter.

Hand Up Toronto and Good Sheppard Ministries are collaborating for a special event on Saturday Jan 25th @ 8AM – 11:30AM.

WHO: Good Sheppard Ministries is a charity that provides vital services for homeless and disadvantaged individual in downtown Toronto.

WHAT: We are looking for 3 volunteers to help with directed task which include:

  • Making dorm beds
  • Folding laundry
  • sorting food
  • preparing food
  • assisting with holiday meal/special event tasks

WHERE: Good Sheppard is located at 412 Queen Stret East – at Parliament.

What we ask of you:
– Please be respectful of all clients, staff, and volunteers at the Centre. The Centre
does not tolerate discrimination, ridicule, or intimidation of clients, staff, or other
volunteers.
– Student volunteers may not leave the Centre grounds during the duration of their
volunteer experience.
– No smoking on premises.
– Always wear closed-toe shoes – rubber soles preferred.
– All volunteers and staff are offered a complimentary lunch at 11:45am. Please only
take what you can eat to ensure food is not wasted.

Volunteer Restrictions
– Individual volunteers are required to be a minimum of 13 years old. Volunteers 15
and under must be accompanied by an adult.
– Potential volunteers cannot have used the services of Good Shepherd Ministries
within one year of their application. Services include: dining in the Centre; receiving
articles from the clothing room; using Good Shepherd Ministries’ medical, drop-in,
Resettlement, and/or Drug and Alcohol Recovery Enrichment (DARE services).
